If you’re trying to find and refine your voice as a writer, author and educator Tara Botel Doherty’s biggest recommendation is to just keep writing. While she knows this is advice that many writers hear often, she says there is a reason for that. By writing as much as you can, you are constantly learning and improving upon the craft. Even when you face challenges, such as negative feedback in a writer’s group or personal setbacks, Doherty says you have to persevere and find ways to continue growing as a writer.
