The Role of a Writing Coach

When author, instructor, director, and screenwriter John Henry Davis was writing his first science fiction novel, he sought out a writing coach to help with the form of the story. Davis believes this is an excellent reason to find an experienced novelist who can provide feedback on your work. A coach can also help you find the real story – he or she can draw something out of you that you didn’t know was there before. Furthermore, working with a writing coach gives you the chance to see your piece in a different way. The coach can show you how an audience or reader may experience your story so you can better understand how it’s received to others besides you, the creator.
