I found myself totally caught up in his words and was interestingly comforted that I could associate with his power of the passion, how one can draw and express from one's innermost core and speak from the heart through the voice of poetry; my book, "Affairs of the Heart", is completely an expression of my life's experiences of love and loss and much of that he had expressed parallels much of what I have felt in writing my book.
Inspirational!
I have a similar experience in which my brother was almost killed in an automobile accident. He is alive and well. But that experience opened my eyes to so much and I was able to express it through my poetry and publish my first book- Poetic Nation: The Diary of a Poet
Thank you for helping me understand why I write poetry with so much passion. Which I now see as emotion of pieces of my life that needed to be shared.
Hi Donald. I'm new to the ALC and I thank you for the comment you have made about 'poetry like tears are the product of the soul brought forth by the heart" - I will admit I have always thought of poetry as such but also felt my ideas were somewhat idealistic and probably romantic as I 'wax lyrical' over subjects I am interested in so it was good for me to read your comments and to realise I am not alone in my thinking. Thank you!
