Different Types of Professional Writing - podcast

Writer Stephanie Golden describes the difference between a ghostwriter and book doctor, clarifying the level of involvement in each type of project. A ghostwriter writes the book but is invisible and doesn't have their name on the cover. Collaboration can vary greatly in ghostwriting because some authors provide an outline and completed research, and other times it is up to the ghostwriter. In book doctoring, there is also a range. The writer does a massive job to rewrite and restructure a book, but the manuscript is already written. Sometimes a book doctor provides coaching and suggestions without doing the rewrite.
