The Benefits of Developing a Calling Card Book

If you’re looking to create a personal brand, a calling card book can be an effective way to establish credibility. A calling card book is generally nonfiction and written by an expert on a certain topic. Book marketer and author Desireé Duffy says this work, which is a calling card for your services, gives you the ability to better promote yourself. Even if people aren’t reading your calling card book, the fact that you've published a book related to your area of expertise will give you credibility. This can be especially helpful when securing media appearances or speaking engagements.

  • Desiree, apologies, I keep hitting that damned enter button...I'm wondering what your thoughts are about my version of a calling card book..see my last post. Thank you for your time. Best Louise

  • Thank you Desiree, My expertise is teaching but right now I don't wish to write about teaching. I'm wondering about writing a calling card book about travel...now I know there's lots of information out there about travelling. What I'm thinking is succinct mini memoirs about a few of the many extraordinarily beautiful places I have travelled. I'm a retired Nomad, but not grey, I have always been a nomad, My teaching took me to remote outback communities in Australia...loved it...it suited me...I took  my dog, and usually travel alone in my old bus... realise this has potential to be a tiring blah, blah memoir...I won't do that...
