Building Credibility When Promoting Your Non-Fiction Book - video

Author and journalist Jane Hodges discusses how to build credibility as an author. As a journalist, she already had content and readers that followed her. She also discusses how journalists automatically have the credibility of the brand they're writing for. Anyone can build their author community and promote their book by creating a conversation around the book's topic. Focus on getting the topic on people's minds, which will make people want to buy your book. Authors can also use social media or radio interviews for promotion of their book.

  • Hi, I am individual and I am in the process of writing a book about the specification for a Holodeck. I am designing my own photonic simulation software and am going to use this to write the book (the software is in the debugging and verification phase of design). The book will contain a specification for a photonic computer and it will be shown to work with my own proof of concept mathematics which is similar to electronic binary and decimal but in the optical domain and it will hopefully be able to show how it can drive a volumetric display with touch capability. I have approached professors here in Ireland and they are interested in the book. I have also contacted a lot of organisation about freeflow of hardware specifications and have been contacted by the an organisation about photonic standards. I am pushing myself hard to get my ideas onto paper and to get credability for my work. The project will take a further 2-4 years to publish as I have a lot of hard work still todo.

  • Expert twitter champion that was funny, but conversational topic is cool idea; Facebook I tend to use mostly as occasional social; and I made my Website for free with Wix it was easy to build and design once I got used to their tools only took one evening: http://asnp03.wixsite.com/mysite-1 but it never occurred to me to add links to my Facebook and twitter.
