Key Elements of Book Publicity - podcast
Many authors feel shy about marketing their book. But Patty Change Anker says that you should think of book publicity this way: You wrote the book because it would make a difference in peoples' lives, and by promoting it, you are able to reach more people. Chang Anker, author of “Some Nerve” and established TedX speaker, shares insight about the key elements of book publicity. These days, people discover books to read through the internet. Promoting your book on social media increases your chances of being discovered by readers. Offline marketing strategies are also important, such as speaking at your local libraries or schools. Try to get the attention of traditional media by sharing what sets you apart. Keep in touch with your book publicist and let them know of any relevant updates, such as why an editor would be interested in your story now.
