From a writer's perspective, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) has gotten easier to manage. Per Andy Hollandbeck, freelance copyeditor and current managing editor for The Saturday Evening Post, over the last two decades Google has fine-tuned their search algorithms. The search engine giant is better at determining what websites are about. It's no longer a game of keywords or metadata, Hollandbeck says. What will make your website rank is providing high quality copy content that is relevant to your author platform. It is important to understand how to best structure and construct your website so that Google can find you and your content. Trying to play the old games of tricking the system will only hurt your ranking.
