Humor is difficult to write well. Incorporating humor in your writing can be a valuable literary tool when you know how to do it right. Author Judy Cobb Dailey shares how she uses humor in her writing. She says that there's always the opportunity incorporate humor in a book. But humor cannot be forced—it has to occur naturally out of conflict. Dialogue offers that opportunity. Although you might not get it right on the first draft, look for places for humor to arise organically from the material and characters.
