Author C. S. Lakin talks about the challenges and benefits of writing in different genres. In order to be successful, the general perception is that an author should write in only one genre. For a time, publishers and agents didn't take Lakin seriously and said she was naïve to write in multiple genres. She persevered and wrote what she really wanted to write.
