Advice for Getting Started as a Fiction Author

What does it take to finish a manuscript and become an author? Getting started as a writer is an intimidating prospect that involves a lot of knowledge, practice, and determination. With so much that you don’t know, and so much to learn, the path can seem overwhelming. Sometimes courses and programs, like the ALC Book in a Year program, can help writers get started. Hendrix, science fiction author and English professor, shares important advice for aspiring fiction authors. “The key thing is don’t get in your own way,” says Hendrix.
