Earning writing awards and accolades has enabled author and former underground storage tank operator Laurel Anne Hill to spread her reach as an author and speaker. With awards comes credibility, which means conventions, conferences, local libraries, and schools are eager to host Hill and hear what she has to say about writing. One of the most meaningful awards Hill has earned was after getting the Kirkus Star in 2017, when her novel The Engine Woman’s Light was rated in the top 100 indie books of the year and in the top six indie teen books.
