Bestselling Author Aleatha Romig on Her Writing Process and Maintaining Productivity

New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig finds herself to be most productive and creative when she writes during the daytime, and not at night. She starts each morning by reading what she wrote the day prior, makes any necessary adjustments, and then begins writing one or two new chapters from there. She also fits in some time for the business side of writing.

With over fifty titles in her portfolio of romance books, Romig has realized that her first draft will not be perfect. By making the small adjustments as she goes she is able to make some big improvements, resulting in less editing down the road.

Romig's story ideas come from a lot of places. She is not a plotter and instead puts her initial focus on character development. She then lets the characters tell the story.
